More Thoughts From writer Aaron Sorkin (of “The West Wing”, “The American President”, “The Social Network” and “Molly’s Game).
When discussing what it was like directing “Molly’s Game,” Aaron Sorkin talked about working with the the actors in the film. Six weeks prior to shooting, he spoke to the actors via Skype and phone calls. He would talk to them about what was important now in the story scene by scene.
He said:
“None of that would have mattered at all if Jessica Chastain and Idris Elba did not show up every day completely prepared. Not just having memorized their lines, but OWNING IT. What you get from Jessica, is not only a terribly skilled actor, but what she brings is her own brand of magic and beyond that she is just a very hard worker.”
Hmmmmm. Talent, skill, and hard work. May be something to that…
